MT has been teaching piano for over fifteen years to students of all ages, ranging from 3 – 73.
She has explored myriad curriculum styles and is able to select appropriate courses to tailor to each student’s goals. Having worked her way through the AMEB exams, MT is familiar with their expectations and has attained high grades from her students, achieving an average pass with Honours.
MT’s experience running rhythm workshops has profoundly influenced her approach to teaching piano. Whilst rhythm lies at the core of each lesson, so too does the element of fun. Games and tasks used in large group music workshops have been adapted to fit in to the smaller setting of one-on-one tuition.
MT has found the foundation for playing well lies in posture, relaxation and technique.
